Golden age of hunting is right now
Now that my big game hunting is over for the 2007-2008 season, it’s time to concentrate on the upcoming season and the changes that have been instituted by the state Game and Fish Department. Because of the economic recession we are currently in, the increase in the nonrefundable application fee is something to consider. |

Deer hunter shot black bear in self-defense
Although I've long ago given up hunting myself, I still love to hear hunting stories, and of course fishing stories. Youths participating in the program are permitted to pursue squirrels, groundhogs, antlered deer and spring gobblers. |

Hunting tradition can be a gift
As I write this article it is currently 3 degrees and snowing at my parent's house in Michigan. My wife, daughter and I are visiting here for the holidays. We are truly blessed to be here with all my relatives and friends. Everything is snow covered and though it is extremely cold and the roads a bit slippery you couldn't ask for a more perfect "White Christmas." |
